About me

Yiming Ding (he/him)

My name in Mandarin is 丁一鸣. Pronounce my first name as ``yee-mean''.

  • Photonic Researcher - I worship fundamental science and believe in the potentials of light-matter interactions for better perceptions of the world. My PhD is advised by Prof. Ronald K. Hanson and I humbly devote five important years to exploring wavelengths from near-infrared to mid-infrared with solid-state lasers and a shock tube.

  • Data Analyst - I honor the integrity and objectivity of data through LabVIEW-automated collection/acquisition that is free from human bias. I also love synthesizing massive sets of raw data into informative yet concise results using analysis tools (MATLAB, Python, Origin, and Ansys), then crafting impactful stories about scientific breakthroughs and real-world applications.

  • Global Explorer - Surviving and thriving in a foreign country are my treasures and life memories. I love learning from zero about languages, cultures, social norms, and most importantly, the people. Glad to connect and I am all ears for your adventure.
